SHAAN DOSHI
LEAD ORGANIZER
Shaan Doshi is in 12th Grade at Moorestown Friends School. He started as participant in SJBoys Read in 2010 and now is a project manager and lead organizer for events. Shaan has helped distribute books and food at distribution events in Camden and Burlington counties. Shaan also volunteers for Literacy, NJ helping tutors promote adult literacy and at BookSmiles as an ambassador. Shaan enjoys reading, playing with his dog, travel, sports and gaming. He is a member of Model UN and the basketball and baseball teams. He hopes to develop a love for reading in of our community.
AJAY SHAH
LEAD ORGANIZER
Ajay is a senior at Moorestown High School. Ajay remembers participating in the Boys Read sessions when he was younger and is happy to be sharing his love of reading with the younger boys. He enjoys reading Mystery and Fictional novels as well as anything that has a sports theme! His hobbies include playing video games, hanging out with friends, traveling around the world, and playing any sport.
LUCAS MEGILL
LEAD ORGANIZER
Lucas is a Senior at Moorestown High School. He is a member of Student Council, the Theater program, the Volleyball team, and the MHS Madrigals. Outside of school, Lucas is a Book Ambassador for BookSmiles, and one of the leaders and founding members of Lions Heart Moorestown and Homework Helpers. His favorite genre of reading is realistic fiction. He used to attend SJBoys Read events when he was younger, and is happy to be a part of continuing the SJBR mission to foster a love of reading.
DEVEN BUTANI
TEAM MEMBER
Deven Butani is a 10th grader who lives in Moorestown and goes to Princeton International School of Math and Science. His hobbies include playing basketball and video games. While he does enjoy math and science, he is excited to give back to the community through encouraging younger boys to read!
VIKRAM VERMA
TEAM MEMBER
Vikram Verma is in the class of 2025 at Moorestown Friends School. Vikram greatly enjoys reading and some of his favorite genres are mystery and action, and his favorite book is Night by Elie Wiesel. Along with being an avid reader, Vikram is also a dedicated Soccer and Tennis player. He plays on the Varsity Soccer and Tennis teams at MFS and for Players Development Academy. Vikram also is part of the High School robotics team and Newspaper staff. Some other hobbies Vikram enjoys are traveling, making youtube videos, and playing video games.
ANAY BHUT
TEAM MEMBER
Anay Bhut is a Junior at Eastern Regional High School. He is a member of the volleyball team at Eastern, a member of the Investments team, participates in Model UN, and part of the Gifted and Talented program at Eastern. Outside of Eastern , he referees flag football games, announces and works little league baseball games at GVAA, participates in BookSmiles, and is excited to develop a relationship with SJ Boys Read. Anay loves to travel with his family, hangout with friends, and is a fantasy football nerd. He enjoys reading mystery, drama, and sports themed books. Anay is excited to expand his love of reading to the younger boys

NAVEEN SHAH
LEAD ORGANIZER
Naveen is currently a freshman at Georgetown University hoping to major in Government. When he was younger, Naveen attended all the SJ Boys Read programs, and as a result became an avid reader of all genres. In addition his classwork, he continues to read for fun, recently diving into Trevor Noah's biography Born a Crime. Naveen has many other hobbies, including debating, using his GoPro to create movies, and playing tennis for Georgetown's club team.
CONNOR MEGILL
LEAD ORGANIZER
Connor is a freshman at William & Mary intending to major in business. Before being a leader, he was once a participant in the SJ Boys Read program. His favorite book genres are fantasy and horror. Connor enjoys movies, playing the guitar, and travel - including spending a semester in Hawaii.
KYLE THUMAR
FOUNDER
Kyle Thumar, a co-founder of SJ Boys Read, now sits on its board of directors. When founding the group, he hoped to create something which would encourage other guys to develop a passion for reading as strong as his. His favorite genres are sports fiction and biographies, however he enjoys reading nearly any book. Beyond reading, Kyle’s hobbies include watching the Buckeyes and running.
Kyle graduated from The Ohio State University in 2018 with degrees in finance and economics, and now lives and works in New York City.
CAMERON PENDINO
FOUNDER
Cameron is one of the co-founders of SJ Boys Read. He led the group since its inception in the summer of 2008 and he loves to read books of all genres, while encouraging not only boys but all people to read as well. When not reading, Cameron plays basketball and baseball and roots for all Philadelphia sports teams.
SHAILEN DOSHI
LEAD ORGANIZER
Shailen Doshi is currently employed at WorkRise and was previously a consultant with Accenture in their Strategy group. He is a graduate from Cornell University and majored in Policy Management and Analysis. He has been a SJBoys Read participant since 2008 and in 2011 was a Lead
Organizer. He enjoys reading books of all kinds especially science fiction as well as playing basketball and baseball. He has volunteered with College Mentors for Kids and Cayuga’s Watchers (NPO). He is a sports fan, his favorite teams are the Phillies, Sixers, and Eagles.
NIKHIL THUMAR
CO-LEADER
Nikhil Thumar is a co-founder of SJ Boys Read!. He has been interested in reading from a very young age. He loved the Harry Potter, Redwall and Fablehaven series, and Mike Lupica books. SJ Boys Read! provided him with the opportunity to share his love of reading with as many boys as possible. In addition to running events, Nikhil managed the initial website during the early years of the organization. He also enjoys music, golf, football and basketball. His favorite sports teams are the New York Giants and Boston Celtics.
VISHAL DOSHI
LEAD ORGANIZER
Vishal Doshi is a senior at Boston University, premed and majoring in Human Physiology. He has been a part of SJ Boys Read since 2008. He joined this great book club first as a participant and went on to be a leader. He enjoys reading and working with kids. Sports, mystery, and comedy genres are his favorites. Along with reading Vishal enjoys sports, traveling, and volunteering with the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless and MedLife.
